Growth Is A Journey Blanketrade is a another step in the life journey of founder Pamela Mays, a native Midwesterner with several centuries of multi-tribal Native American and Western European family roots. The trading-post business was brought to life in space provided by Herb 'n' Ewe in Thornville, Ohio, nearly a year ago and moved to its own space on East Main street in Newark in September 2004. An artisan, historian and teacher for 20 years, Pamela has woven decades of personal and cultural experience with her fascination and study of more than 700 years of family lore. Pamela has developed a spiritual life based on a Native American connection with the earth and natural principles and their icons. She believes we are supposed to be where we are, that every experience, no matter how painful, occurs as part of growth during our life journey. What we learn and experience now has a purpose later.
